What is a soul mate?
To understand what and/or who your soul mate is, you should understand what your soul is. Webster's Dictionary defines "soul" as: 1) the immortal or spiritual part of a person, credited with functions of the thinking, will and determining behavior. 2) The moral or emotional nature of a man.
Psalm 16:2 says "O my soul, you have said to the Lord, 'You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.'"
The Lord God:
Creates the soul, Psalm 139:14; Saves, converts and causes your soul to live (eternally/salvation) John 3:16; Restores your soul, Psalm 23:3; and He abides in relationship with your soul, John 15:4-5 and Hosea 2:16
So if the soul is eternal, if the soul was made to walk intimately with God and if God creates, saves and restores the soul...then WHO is your soul mate? That's right, your soul mate is God, not a human being.
Healthy relationships, no matter what type of relationship begin with an understanding of who you are as an individual and if you think that a person can complete you or your soul, you are in for disappointment. Remember the love of God never fails and never disappoints...start with that and He'll set up everything else including that desire for marriage.
